Effects of Generation Change to Digital Transformation
Levent Sılay, Board Member at Login Software, also attended the “Digital Transformation of SMEs” workshop held on 23 November 2017, Thursday and hosted by Wyndham Istanbul Old City Laleli Hotel with the collaboration between economy and business world magazine Hizmetix and Software Industrialists Association (Yazılım Sanayicileri Derneği) and made very important remarks on the Effect of the Intergenerational Transition on Digital Transformation.
During his speech, Levent Sılay, Board Member at Login Software, stated: “As Login Software, we work on the digital transformation of medium and large sized enterprises. First, some necessities must arise for digital transformation. One of the most important factors that create necessities in the world involves human and today we see that people’s dreams and expectations change, particularly with the intergenerational transition. A profound intergenerational transition is in question. How people conduct business alters with the digital transformation. For example, as the second-generation representative, I had to work hard to bring the 30-year firm forward to another 30 years. To make this possible, it was necessary to examine the business models in Turkey and the world and rejuvenate all the decision-making bodies and middle class managers to change the business model accordingly. So, we hired younger employees for the firm. Thus, the firm gained momentum. The reason behind this momentum was the fact that these people could use technology in different dimensions. With digital transformation, we can now reach a person, anywhere in the world, through seven connections. This shows us how strong the technology has become and at which point of the digital transformation we are. The new generation does not want to do repetitive jobs. This is why labor is getting digitalized. Once the decision makers are constituted by our generation, the digital transformation we are talking about today will grow incredibly and advance faster because our generation will want to run its company and its business and manage its production and finance through a certain system.”
